Century Hardware Getting Comfy in New Surroundings

Moving day.
If you were to ask nearly anyone that has experienced the trepidation and hard work associated with moving, chances are that most would align the experience with that of receiving a root canal; no fun at all.
To the close-knit team of employees at Century Hardware, however, the short-term pain from moving is all but forgotten as they enjoy the benefits of their beautiful new North American Headquarters in Kentwood, MI. Now enjoying more than 16,000 square feet of space in their new warehouse, Century Hardware has managed the move in a manner totally transparent to its customers.
“We didn’t miss a beat”, says Earl W. Smith, Operations Manager for Century Hardware. “Not one delivery, one order or one client question went missed or unanswered”, added Smith. “That’s what we are all about here, providing the best customer service available to our retail partners. We went to great strides in making the move invisible to our partners, and now, after it is all done, they too can share in the benefits our larger space provides us.”
Smith is not kidding either. Taking a tour of the new facility, one cannot help but be impressed with just how well the new space is being utilized. Stacks of industrial shelving holding more than sixty days of inventory of more than 45 collections reach the ceiling, making sure that Century Hardware can maintain one of the bedrocks of its continued success: orders received by 2 PM (whether one piece or one hundred) will be shipped the same day.
“We’ve carved out a niche in the marketplace based on providing quality pulls, handles and knobs at a super-competitive price point to our clients when they need them, because we realize that as partners, both of our reputations are on the line, said Peter Turner, National Sales Manager. “We think this model is unique to the marketplace and has led to the growth that has allowed us to make this investment in service for our clients. We expect our efforts to service our clients beyond their expectations o add to our growth so we designed the building so the walls of the warehouse can be blown out to accommodate more products available to our customers while still presenting us with the privilege of serving them the only way we know how- beyond their expectations”, he added.
Earl, Peter, and the rest of the team would be happy to show you around the next time you are in the Grand Rapids, MI area. While you are there, check out the quality of the pieces and see for yourself the reasons so many in the kitchen and bath industry, have become fervent believers and trusting partners with a company built around supporting them and their business.
